Description
A mess‑free charcoal poultice made with activated charcoal powder and psyllium husk, used to draw out toxins from insect bites, stings and infections.
Benefits
- Activated charcoal can adsorb and neutralize toxins, reducing pain, swelling and itching in bee stings, wasp stings and other bites.
- Psyllium husk thickens the mixture, making it easy to apply without mess.
- Can also soothe conjunctivitis by drawing out irritants.
Preparation & Use
In a sealable plastic bag, mix equal parts activated charcoal powder and psyllium husk (e.g., two teaspoons each) and add enough water to form a paste. Seal the bag and knead until the mixture forms a gel. Flatten it into a thin layer and store in the refrigerator or freezer. When needed, cut a piece of the poultice, remove the top layer of plastic and apply the charcoal side to the affected area; tape or bandage in place. Discard after use.
