Description

A warm poultice made from steamed or dry‑baked onion halves used externally to relieve earaches and draw out boils.

Benefits

  • Moist heat relaxes cramping muscles and eases ear pain.
  • Onion's anti‑inflammatory and antimicrobial compounds help draw out infection and reduce swelling.
  • Can encourage pus to drain from boils or relieve pressure inside an ear.

Preparation & Use

Steam or dry‑bake an onion with its skin on until soft. Cut it in half cross‑wise, squeeze a little juice into the ear (optional), wrap the warm onion half in cloth, test the temperature on your arm, place over the ear or boil, cover with plastic to retain warmth and secure with a bandage or cap.
